Since its inception more than 27 years ago, silicon and software provider Silicon Labs (NASDAQ: SLAB) steadily acquired more than a dozen technology companies, building an impressive portfolio of wireless solutions for commercial, industrial and consumer markets. Along with its core offering of secure intelligent wireless technology for the Internet of Things (IoT), Silicon Labs also designed and acquired valuable IP in automotive, broadcast, 5G wireless infrastructure, data center timing and power isolation markets.

In April of 2021, Silicon Labs divested all business segments except for its IoT offering. Ensuring external stakeholders understood this strategic shift was critical. Sun PR played a leading role in developing the messaging and media strategy to ensure the move was applauded and well understood by stakeholders and business and trade media.

Sun PR prepared company executives for Silicon Labs’ annual customer and partner event, where leaders laid out the new vision for the company. Sun PR managed the press event content and drove media outreach, securing over 50 reporter and analyst registrations. Media coverage of the event nearly doubled from the prior year, with the coverage reach increasing more than 13x. Silicon Labs’ new IoT vision was clearly conveyed by the CEO during the press conference, and the resulting coverage — including a standout feature in Reuters — surpassed expectations.
